Ah, the "archival" family photo. Grandparents' 70th anniversary. It's always nice to have some help setting up something like this. As the photographer, you're busy with preparations. Meanwhile, your subjects can get impatient. In this case, the subjects loved me. Which can be good and bad at the same time.
When you're working an event as a hired professional, people view you with a detachment that often works to your advantage. For candids, they ignore you. Family members tend to look back. Quick action is key. Get set up. Run into the picture. Repeat three times.
Or several dozen times.
